The children got back into routine very quickly after the half term break. The photos show a variety of jobs including measuring, tray activities and learning to form their ‘j’  (j j j jack- in- a- box!). It was lovely to welcome Isabelle to our class and she is settling in well. We now have 30 children again which is great for our counting

Tasting!

This week we’ve had fun exploring tasting and tongues in our topic work.  We’ve tried  identifying fruits blindfolded (using our Welsh), made and tasted porridge and even been allowed to poke out our tongues (in the name of science!) Some children chose to make ‘Goldilocks and the Three bears’ finger puppets. We have also enjoyed  learning a song about hot porridge and accompanying it

Work in the woods

We spent a lovely afternoon on Thursday doing all of our activities outside learning about shapes and the sense of listening. We listened to different sorts of sounds in the woods and made our own.  The children used the mudpit this week (if they had wellies and waterproofs)and had fun being allowed to splash and get a bit messy! The children were busy all day doing a variety of activities. They enjoyed  collaging with wedding magazines, designing a wedding cake and using the interactive whiteboard. Some of the children were fascinated looking at

Thought you’d like to see a picture of the whole class four months on – doesn’t time fly? The children have gradually settled back into routine after the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations, the big day itself and the break at home!  We hope you all had a happy and relaxing time. Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been learning about Winter

Christmas preparations

The children have enjoyed ‘lighting’ their candles on our Advent tree and collecting their chocolate coin from our Gingerbread calendar in the countdown to Christmas. Another busy week has rushed by making Christmas lists and decorations, having Christmas dinner and watching the splendid Year 5 + 6 production of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have also been practising songs for our Christmas concert with

‘Cobweb Christmas’

The children have enjoyed making moons, stars, apples and spiders’s webs this week… if you’d like to see the connection between them go to St.Mary’s Church on Saturday (10am-3pm) or Sunday (10.30am-3.30pm). Please take your children to see their tree (they really listened well when they first heard the story on which our tree is based) and there are some lovely trees to view
