Children of the World – Christmas Play by Classes 3 & 4

Our topic this term has been Christmas around the world.  Children have been discovering some of the many traditions practiced in other countries at Christmas time culminating in a glorious performance of the musical ‘Children of the World’.   Mary and Joseph with the three Kings. Rugby Club winner

Congratulations to Wesley who won the Rugby World Cup ‘sweepstake’ ball. He was fortunate to pull out New Zealand from ‘the pot’ at the start of the World Cup Tournament.  That country went on to win the Rugby World Cup and Wesley won the ball. Wesley can now use the ball to practise his spin passes, drop kicks and running with the ball ready

Rugby fun festival

The rugby World Cup may be over for Wales but the matches are still being won by the Ysgol Y Castell team! The school team recently attended the Rhyl and District school’s rugby fun festival at Ysgol Christchurch in Rhyl.  The team played against 4 local schools and were able to out score the opposition and win their matches. The boys showed excellent team

Triathlon

We had the most amazing day on Wednesday for the School Triathlon event (we were lucky with the weather!) We are all very proud of the way each pupil took part with such determination and enthusiasm. It was great to see some of the pupils who could not ride bikes last year able to do so this year. The top 6 from years 5

Taking Flight Theatre – Rhuddlan Castle

Class 3&4 were treated to a superb performance of Shakespeare’s ‘The Winter’s Tale’at the castle today.  The language of Shakespeare is hard going but this performance was brilliantly done and engaged the children throughout. It was a jazz infused party.              


Foundation Phase ‘Sports Day’

                             ‘Sports Day’ was a real success this year. The sun shone and so did the children, who all ran and jumped and skipped with vigor. The children really enjoyed the different races, and were cheered on by family and friends. Well done everyone !!
