PTA - Friends of Ysgol y Castell
Welcome to our page!
We are really lucky to have some of the most amazing parent volunteers who do a wonderful job of running events for you and your children. Our dedicated group of volunteers raise funds on an annual basis for the school which is put towards benefitting the pupils learning and development.
The PTA has 2 aims;
- To raise money to provide additional equipment to support teaching and learning
- To provide all of the Ysgol Y Castell children and their families with exciting and fun events
In previous years we have financed ICT equipment for both the Infants and Juniors, helped fund new playground equipment, bought heaps of new home school reading books, had visits from theatre groups in school, supported our dance group Synchrony with costumes for shows, purchased new school noticeboards for outside the office, infants and juniors, supplied the Y6 children with keepsake hoodies and each year we fund a pantomime for the children, either in school or in a local theatre plus lots and lots more!!
We get real enjoyment from running events that you and your children love, and that’s what is at the forefront of our minds when we’re planning. We’ve been involved in the Children in Need, Comic Relief and organise discos for the juniors and infants, cake making and decorating competitions, Christmas and Easter bingo, quiz night, gift stalls for Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Valentines and Christmas, refreshments at all school performances and sports day and, of course, our amazing Castell Beat in the summer term!
We would like to express our deepest thanks for all of the hard work and dedication of the PTA and friends of the school who support our events on an annual basis.
We are always looking for more people to be involved in our events and would welcome anyone who would like to join our committee, or volunteer on an ad hoc basis. It is great fun, very worthwhile and helps us to build our school community.
